Keep ideas within reach

Study notes you can return to and use.

Save the explanation, example or link that makes a topic clearer. Keep it close to the subject and the work you plan to do next.

Write for the next time you need the topic

Give a note a title that tells you what it explains. Include the key idea in your own words, a short example and the source you used. If something remains unclear, write the question explicitly instead of hiding it in a long paragraph.

Separate a definition from an application. A note on a formula might include its symbols, the conditions where it applies and a worked example. This makes it easier to choose a revision question later.

Save links with a reason to return

Use resources for course pages, explanations, videos or documents that support a subject. A descriptive title is more useful than an unexplained URL. Keep official course materials easy to distinguish from additional explanations.

Saving a link does not save the external page itself. Its owner may move or remove it, and it will usually need an internet connection. Keep your own permitted notes on the point that mattered rather than relying on a collection of bookmarks alone.

Connect notes to practice

  1. Write one clear explanation or correction after a study session.
  2. Link the material that helped you understand it.
  3. Create a revision question for an idea you need to recall.
  4. Add an application task to the planner when the topic needs practice.

Keep a copy of important work

Use the workspace backup tools regularly. Hosted accounts and the standalone edition save differently, and clearing browser data can remove locally stored work. Before moving devices or importing a backup, check that you have the file you expect. Public product pages never display your personal notes.
