One session at a time
Give your next study session a clear boundary.
Choose the work, set a focus block and take a break when you need one. Lernivra’s timer sits beside your subjects and daily plan.
Use the timer to begin a specific task
Before starting the clock, decide what the session is for. You might attempt three problems, read a section and write a summary, or review a set of questions. This gives the time a purpose and makes the end of the block easier to assess.
A Pomodoro-style routine often uses a short focus block followed by a break. You can also choose a different duration to suit the task. Reading a difficult proof may need a different rhythm from revising familiar vocabulary. The useful part is a clear start, a manageable boundary and a deliberate pause.
A simple focus routine
- Choose one subject and remove an avoidable distraction.
- Set a study block you can realistically complete.
- Work on the selected task rather than switching between subjects.
- Pause for a break, then record what you finished and what comes next.
Review the work behind the minutes
Completed sessions can help you understand where your study time went. Compare the time with the task you attempted: did you solve the problem, identify a mistake or discover that you need help? A long session is not automatically a productive session.
Treat the timer as a prompt, not a test of willpower. Shorten a block when the task or your available time calls for it. If you are interrupted, return to a smaller next action rather than trying to recover an ideal session.
Keep browser limits in mind
Browsers and mobile devices can limit background activity, sounds or notifications. Keep the app available during important timed work and use a separate alarm when a missed alert would matter. The study timer is a personal productivity tool, not an examination timing system.
